Food Is Culture

Food culture includes products, landscapes, traditions, and knowledge.

It is the result of thousands of years of creativity and exchange. This heritage is fragile: industrial agriculture and the standardization of taste put at risk many foods and traditions. Protecting food culture is key to understanding our common European identity and our diversity. The official launch of the Food is Culture project will take place on 23 September at 18:30 at PAV – the Experimental center of contemporary art (Turin, Via Giordano Bruno 31). We will talk about food, art, and culture and present a video-clip promoting the European Year of Cultural Heritage and the message connected to food heritage. Cocktails and appetizers will be served at the end of the presentation, in collaboration with Eataly and Compagnia dei Caraibi. The Food is Culture project is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, with the contribution of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo.
